Just Us is a Collaboration between Deaf Artist Clare Adam, and Autistic Artist Lesley Howard based in Scotland. Together, we create work that draws on our own lived experiences, creating spaces for young people to feel respected and represented, while allowing us to hold agency over our own stories and reclaim our narratives through the work we create. 

Our work is vibrant, bold and engaging, which stems from our values of Access, Joy, Curiosity and Playfulness. Our movement merges British Sign Language and Autistic Patterns with Contemporary Dance to create a shared score that centres and prioritises non-verbal communication.

Access is a present from the outset and viewed as a third collaborator in our creative process. We aim to create spaces of empowerment, safety and connection as we navigate this world together.
